These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of FinDr. By creating an account, accessing, or using FinDr., you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself or the entity you represent.
1. Nature of the Service
FinDr. provides software tools for professor discovery, research matching, shortlist management, outreach drafting, connected inbox sending, and related academic workflow support. FinDr. is a tool, not a guarantee of professor responses, research placement, admissions outcomes, employment outcomes, or institutional approval.
2. Account Eligibility and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it reasonably current.
3. User Responsibility for Communications
You are solely responsible for every communication, draft, upload, message, and attachment sent, stored, or generated through FinDr. You agree not to use the platform to send unlawful, deceptive, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, fraudulent, or spam-like content.
4. Email Compliance Responsibility
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your outreach complies with applicable email laws, anti-spam rules, academic or institutional policies, inbox provider rules, and recipient expectations. FinDr. does not assume responsibility for deliverability problems, spam classification, blocked domains, complaints, or blacklisting events.
5. AI Output Disclaimer
Any AI-generated language, ranking, or recommendation is provided for convenience only. AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your use. You must independently review and approve any content before relying on it or sending it.
6. License Granted to FinDr.
You grant FinDr., Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, analyze, and display content you submit or generate through the service to the extent necessary to operate, secure, improve, and enforce the platform.
7. Public Data Disclaimer
FinDr. organizes and displays public academic and institutional information from third-party sources. We do not guarantee that public source information is accurate, complete, current, or available, and we have no obligation to correct every public source error.
8. Account Suspension and Platform Control
We may suspend, throttle, restrict, review, disable, or terminate access to all or part of FinDr. at any time, with or without notice, for operational, security, legal, reputational, abuse-prevention, or business reasons.
9. Subscriptions and Payments
Some FinDr. features may require a paid subscription. Paid plans are billed as described at purchase and may renew automatically unless canceled. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing, plans, features, and usage limits at any time.
10. Intellectual Property
FinDr. and all related software, interfaces, branding, workflows, design, analytics systems, rankings, and proprietary content are owned by FinDr., Inc. or its licensors. Except as expressly allowed, you may not reverse engineer, scrape, copy, reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit the platform or its outputs.
11. No Warranty
FinDr. is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FinDr., Inc. and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, founders, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, reputational harm, failed outreach, admissions outcomes, employment outcomes, service interruptions, or data loss. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to FinDr. will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to FinDr. during the twelve months before the claim arose or $100.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FinDr., Inc. and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your account, your content, your outreach, your misuse of the service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
14. Arbitration and Class Action Waiver
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or FinDr. will be resolved through binding individual arbitration, except that either party may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court. You and FinDr. waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, representative action, or consolidated proceeding.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms become effective when posted. Your continued use of FinDr. after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
